Jeffery Zimmerman, Ph.D.

Is the Director and co-founder of BAFTTA. Jeff maintains a private practice, both here and in San Francisco, where he sees children, adolescents,adults,couples, and families, using a Narrative Approach. Jeff has extensive experience helping clients battle problems such as anxiety and depression, eating disorders, pain and chronic illness effects, behavioral problems and growing up difficulties.As a former Associate Professor in a Psychiatry Dept. he is experienced in working with medical systems and students.He has been an adjunct faculty member at Stanford hospital. He has been a licensed clinical psychologist for over 25 years

Jeff has been training students and staff members in using a Narrative approach for 20 years. He gives Narrative Therapy workshops all over the world. He has published extensively in family therapy and Narrative Therapy journals, and has written a number of book chapters on the subject. He is the author of: If Problems Talked: Narrative Therapy in Action.

Marie-Nathalie Beaudoin, Ph.D.

Is the training director of Bay Area Family Therapy Training Associates and a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice for over 10 years (PSY15892). She has considerable experience and great interest in working with young people, their families and their school, on a wide variety of issues. Marie Nathalie also enjoys facilitating groups and workshops where people are given the opportunity to connect, share and learn from the experiences of other facing similar issues. Marie-Nathalie has offered groups/workshops on women’s issues, body image/eating issues, silencing critical voices, teenagers, stress reduction, and parenting.

Alongside her clinical work, Marie-Nathalie teaches a number of classes at John F. Kennedy University including: communication, advanced adolescent therapies, child and adolescent development. She has presented internationally, published numerous articles in professional journals and three books: Working with Groups to Enhance Relationships, Breaking the Culture of Bullying and Disrespect and, Creating a Positive School Culture. Her second book has been translated into Brazilian Portuguese.
